The Arlington Soccer Club promotes Paige Forster to newly appointed Director of Coaching Position
ARLINGTON, MA – June 08, 2018 – The Arlington Soccer Club (ASC) recently created a full-time Director of Coaching (DOC) position to oversee the development of all youth soccer players and volunteer soccer coaches in the Arlington community. The ASC is delighted to announce that Paige Forster has been promoted to this newly created position. In the DOC role, Paige will continue to develop and implement a broad program to enhance the development of Arlington children as soccer players.
“Paige’s experience as a professional soccer player combined with her considerable training and track record of coaching abroad – and here in Arlington – will be an invaluable asset to our program,” said Michael Girioni, President of The Arlington Soccer Club. “The ASC Board and community are thrilled to recognize Paige for this well-deserved promotion.”
Paige brings to this position an extensive soccer resume. She received a Coaching for Performance in Football degree from Anglia Ruskin University and holds advanced coaching licenses from both the English Football Association and the US Soccer Federation. Paige has coached in the UK and Sweden and formerly played with the Liverpool and Everton women’s teams in England. In the US, Paige has served as the Head Football Coach for Challenger Sports and has been a Lead Coach for the ASC over the past three years.
In her new role, Paige will work closely with the ASC Board to enhance the soccer program with the advancement of training and lesson opportunities for coaches and players. She will also collaborate with other local soccer programs and the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association to ensure that Arlington maintains a soccer program that best serves the community. Paige’s great energy, enthusiasm and passion for both Arlington and soccer has garnered her strong positive reviews from players and coaches alike.
The mission of the ASC is to provide a fun environment for children to play the game of soccer while promoting good sportsmanship and the skill development of all players. The appointment of a full-time DOC is an important next step in fulfilling this mission.
Established in 1973, the ASC has grown to more than 2,100 registered youth soccer players annually and 350 volunteer coaches. As DOC, Paige will help to develop a long term strategic plan for the soccer club. Central to this plan, is improving our player and coach development programs. The soccer program, under Forster’s leadership, will focus on the development of individual technical skills as the foundation for success in soccer. This is consistent with the ASC philosophy that player development, participation, and enthusiasm for the sport of soccer is more important than the outcome of any game. In addition, the player development program will support the ASC value of coaching children as people through good sportsmanship and teamwork. The ASC is dedicated to the ongoing training of volunteer coaches to improve the quality of the experience for the children and supports the continued growth of a thriving soccer community within Arlington.
Please join us in congratulating Paige on this well-deserved promotion!
