Spring 2024 TOPSoccer

Arlington Soccer Club is pleased to announce that registration for the Spring 2025 TOPSoccer program is open as of March 25th . TOPSoccer is a recreational soccer program for players with disabilities or differences. The Spring TOPSoccer season includes 6 weekly sessions and will continue to be offered free of charge. Details are as follows:

Participants:

The ASC TOPSoccer program is for children and youth ages 5-20 who would benefit from a soccer environment adapted to players with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities or differences. Family/caregiver participation is welcomed but not expected. Participants do not need to reside in Arlington or attend school in Arlington.

Format:

TOPSoccer sessions have a very flexible format. No soccer playing experience is necessary. There are various supervised activity stations that allow players to develop soccer skills at their own pace. Some players engage in friendly scrimmages, while others prefer more individual play. Our goal is to create a low-pressure, safe space for players to explore soccer in their own way. We provide adaptive soccer equipment (e.g. audible balls, weighted balls, oversized balls, etc) to accommodate a range of preferences or needs.

Schedule:

Sessions will be held on an accessible field in Arlington at 3:30-4:30pm on the following Sundays: April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, June 2, and June 9.

Registration:

Registration is required, and space is limited to 40 participants to ensure a positive experience for everyone. Registration is offered first-come, first-serve. If the program is capped by the time you register, your name will be added to the waitlist. Waitlisted players are accepted to the program if space and resources allow. Registration can be completed at the following link: https://secure.adminsports.net/arlingtonmasoccer. Please be sure to select ‘Spring 2024 TOPSoccer’ when you register.

Coaching:

Sessions will be run by ASC President and TOPSoccer Coordinator, Travis Baggett. Travis holds a US Soccer ‘D’ Coaching License and is a primary care physician. Additional ASC coaches and staff will be on-hand to provide coaching and supervision. Each participant will be paired with a ‘buddy’ who will assist and encourage them through sessions.

Please note: TOPSoccer buddy registration will be announced separately.

Feel free to contact Travis Baggett (tpbaggett@gmail.com) with any questions.
