Before rescheduling games, please confirm that you absolutely cannot play your scheduled game. Having less than a full roster is NOT a valid reason for postponing a game as ASC adheres to the BAYS Play the Schedule Rule. Details can be found here.
Games can be played with the minimum number of players listed below:
11v11: start with 7 continue with 7
9v9: start with 6 continue with 6
7v7: start with 5 continue with 5
HOW TO UNSCHEDULE A GAME:
If you need to unschedule a game for TODAY: Please email the Referee Scheduler, Paul A immediately at paul2319@gmail.com.
If you need to unschedule a future game: Please use the ASC Game Reschedule Form to input your information and requested options. This form will automatically generate a request to unschedule your future game until a makeup game can be scheduled. Please review acceptable reasons for rescheduling a game under Match Rule 8 here.
HOW TO RESCHEDULE A GAME:
- Review the current ASC Field Share Grid here to identify 3 open times that will work for your team. Sunday slots are best as we have very limited field ability on other days.
- Contact the opposing coach to see if any of your chosen open times/dates will work for them.
- Once you have confirmed a common make up date that will work for both teams, fill out the ASC Schedule Makeup Game Form with your game request details. This form will automatically generate and send a Makeup Game Request email to the appropriate people.
Next Steps:
- Once approved, the ASC Field Scheduler will send you a game confirmation email and schedule referees.
- If your team plays in the BAYS league, your BAYS Director will reschedule the game in their system and you will receive a confirmation from BAYS as well.
- Please forward this email to your opponent to ensure confirmation on their end.
LATE CANCEL IMPACTS ON REFS:
As a Club, we have noticed an uptick in late game cancellations. We are writing to ask your help in avoiding future late game cancellations by confirming games with opponents at least one week prior to game day.
A few things you may not realize about our referees:
All ASC games from grades 2+ have at least one referee assigned in advance to work each game.
Referees are often Arlington students who are experiencing their first real job through refereeing for ASC.
These children, ages 13+ have made a commitment to our Club, and schedule their own social and family weekend activities around this important job.
A late cancellation means they will almost certainly not be able to pick up another game to replace these lost wages.
Lost wages result in seeking other opportunities for employment that are deemed more reliable.
